As Focus Borehole Drilling, Water Is within our DNA!

Focus Borehole Drilling drills boreholes all over Zimbabwe. We drill depths between 40 metres and 200 metres for domestic and industrial uses. We can provide full borehole drilling services, pumping system installation and tank storage fitting.

As Focus Borehole Drilling We Value Water!

This is why water is at the backbone of our company culture and how we aspire to do business every day – with you, our supplier partners, our customer and worker communities, and each other.

Getting The Borehole Drilling Permit In Zimbabwe

Focus Borehole Drilling offers to facilitate these applications for customers.

Borehole Drilling Authorities: Before a borehole is drilled, authorization to drill the borehole has to be sought first from the appropriate Catchment Council. It is illegal to drill a borehole without the authorization. ZINWA Groundwater Department can easily facilitate authorizations to drill boreholes only for boreholes it will have been hired to drill.

Groundwater Abstraction Permits: An abstraction permit is required before abstracting groundwater. It is illegal to abstract water without a valid permit obtainable from the appropriate Catchment Council. ZINWA Groundwater Department is very conversant with all types of the permits needed for the various situations and the registration required. ZINWA Groundwater Department would secure abstraction permits for its clients without the valued client going through the various processes. Drilling permit is about $60 from zimwa

Borehole Casings (after drilling)

Casing is a large-diameter pipe that is assembled and inserted into a recently drilled section of a borehole.

Similar to the bones of a spine protecting the spinal cord, casing is set inside the drilled borehole to protect and support the water stream.

We install uPVC the 140mm and/or 180mm borehole casings and they come in two pressure classes, Class 6 and Class 10.

Borehole casings are manufactured with selected PVC compounds to provide absolute non-corrosive pipes with excellent mechanical properties.

Borehole Casings

The casings are joined by the use of solvent cement.

Advantages Include:

  • Corrosion: The chemical inertness of uPVC makes them insensitive to all forms of corrosion, thus being excellent products for use in Borehole Drilling.

  • Cost-effective: Lower installed cost compared to conventional (steel) casings.

  • Easy handling and installation: Tough, rugged material, with easy to assemble joints.

  • Lightweight: Much lighter than steel casings, makes them user-friendly installations and saves time.

  • PVC plastic material: Resistant to corrosion as well as acids and alkalis found in some soils. No additional protection required.

  • Internally and externally flush jointed: Easy installation in a borehole and improved flow of pumped water.

  • High modulus of elasticity: Makes for stiffer casings and screens which can be designed for boreholes up to at least 200m deep

Double casing

Double Casing Refers To The Special Construction Of A Borehole Where A Smaller Diameter Casing (140mm) Is Inserted Into A Larger Diameter Casing (180mm). This Strengthens The Borehole Structure and reduces the risk of siltation. It is put in the first meters up to hard formations to avoid siltation and can be determined how many metres to double case either by the siting report or at drilling.
